Product Description

Product Description

The Go-Go Babyz Travelmate quickly turns your toddler car seat into a compact travel stroller so you can navigate any airport with your child and all their gear quickly and safely. The Travelmate is compatible with a large variety of toddler and convertible car seats on the market and is made for children up to 50 pounds. Weighing in at only five pounds, the Travelmate is one of the lightest, most compact car seat strollers available. Its wide wheel base provides added stability for cornering and maneuverability and can be pushed or pulled. Now, instead of carrying your child and car seat, you can wheel your child in their own car seat comfortably and safely through a crowd with one hand. The Travelmate’s initial assembly is quick and simple so you can be up and rolling in no time. It is equipped with a fold down base to accommodate the large car seats on the market today so you can securely roll your child in their own car seat eliminating the need to carry a heavy car seat and tired child. The quick release ratcheting strap makes attaching and removing the Travelmate quick and simple and the 3 inch, quick release razor wheels provide a smooth ride, precise handling and can be installed or removed in a matter seconds without the need for tools. And, the four position telescoping handle allows you to adjust the height to your desired comfort level and can be fully retracted for compact storage. The Travelmate can be checked with your baggage, rolled to gate and checked, or rolled all the way on the plane to be used in flight or stored in the overhead compartment. If you use your Travelmate and car seat during the flight we suggest using a seat belt extender to make it easier to secure and release the airline seat belt. If you chose to check your car seat and or Travelmate we suggest you protect it in a sturdy bag. The Travelmate is designed to withstand some abuse but items can get banged around during flight.

Airplane travel with a toddler can be a challenge, but with the Go-Go Kidz TravelMate, navigating the airport becomes a piece of cake. The TravelMate is a car seat attachment that allows it to be wheeled with ease through the airport, with your child safely belted in. So, rather than carrying your child on one arm and a bulky car seat on the other, you can breeze through the airport with less hassle. It is designed for use with most convertible or toddler car seats, for babies and children up to 50 pounds.

How It Works
The Go-Go Kidz TravelMate quickly and easily attaches to most convertible or toddler car seats. It has 5-inch wheels and a telescopic handle for easily wheeling your child in his or her car seat. Since the FAA strongly recommends that children under 40 pounds use a car seat for air travel, the TravelMate saves you the hassle of hauling your car seat -- and your active toddler, plus all your gear -- through the airport. The TravelMate's wheels detach easily for passing through airport security X-ray machines. The handle features four-position adjustability, ranging from 28 inches to 50-1/2 inches for maximum versatility. And at only five pounds, the TravelMate won't bog you down if you're trying to travel light. In fact, it makes a compact package: it folds flat for easy storage, measuring just 28 x 17 x 5 inches (H x L x W) when closed and 50-1/2 x 17 x 5 inches (H x L x W) when open.

Safe and Secure
You can rest assured that your child will be safe and comfortable while you whiz through the airport with your TravelMate. Its wide, rubber wheels provide a stable, smooth ride, and it is designed for compatibility with most widely available car seat models.

Award-Winning Innovation
The Go-Go Kidz TravelMate has received many awards, including the 2006 JPMA Innovation Award; the iParenting Media Award for Greatest Products of 2006; the Best Product of the Year for 2006 from Fit Pregnancy; and the Preemie Cool Stuff Award.

  • Go-Go Kidz TravelMate Compatibility
The Go-Go Kidz TravelMate is compatible with most widely available car seats, including:

Note: the TravelMate is not compatible with the following seats: Britax Parkway Booster; Combi Koluk High back booster; Cosco Scenera; Graco Turbo Booster; Safety 1st Intera; and Recaro.

Fantastic invention
I bought the Go Go Kidz Travelmate three months before our family vacation to Hawaii to test it and see if it was worth buying two (we have to bring a car seat for each child). The last time I traveled alone with one daughter (the other I was five months pregnant with) I used a rolling bag for her car seat. It was nice, but I had to also bring a small stroller to push her in around the airport. When I got one the plane to install her car seat in her seat, I had to remove a car seat that barely fit inside the bag and reinstall the headrest then install it in the airline seat. I was glad I had a direct flight. Plus I got a lot of strange looks. I must have looked bada**ed carrying a carseat on my back, had a laptop bag and diaper bag across my shoulder, pushing an umbrella stroller looking obviously pregnant. This time, there is no direct flight. We are flying into THREE busy airports (Denver, LA, and Hawaii). Also, we already had one stroller mutilated by an airline with a "we don't cover strollers" excuse so that xnay'd flying with a stroller. I ordered this a few months in advance to make sure that it would fit our car seat, First Years True Fit Convertible. Both of our daughter have the exact same car seat.I did read the instructions thoroughly before starting. Ours came with the ratcheting belt, btw. I recommend a power drill with philips head attachment for the handle screws. The holes do not line up perfectly. Also, for my car seat I did not need to adjust the metal brackets for the ratcheting belt. I followed the direction to lay down the car seat and put this on the back. Because of the rails of the car seat I had to use my knee to keep it in place until I could tighten it. Tighten that belt good, it is what is holding the car seat in place. I fed the belt through the front facing latch belt compartment. DO NOT make my mistake and loosen the belt all of the way. The teeth of the belt should only have 4 or 5 at the end. This will make it really tight. Also I connected the tether of the car seat to the grab handle (not the pull bar) to give it extra stability.Pros:Very sturdy if installation is followedHas durable roller-blade-type wheelsNEW ratcheting belt makes it extremely easy to install and uninstall. I could do it in under a few minutes after some practice.Adjustable handle for us with spouses that have a good 6" on us.Cons:Has no flip down bottom base to hold the car seat a little more secureRatchet belt takes some playing with the get the hang of itHandle doesn't collapse all of the way behind it.Overall I will be buying a second one to use with our other daughter. The added cost to buy another backpack type bag ($30) and the cost of our double stroller ($200) and to check the stroller ($30) we are actually saving money buying two of these at $160 total and don't have to worry about our expensive stroller getting damaged.
